TORONTO — There will be an inquest into the death of a man who died from injuries sustained while working on home renovations at a construction site in Toronto.
Dr. David Eden, regional supervising coroner for inquests, recently announced the inquest into the death of Ryan Pearce, 19, who died Sept. 9, 2014.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Pearce’s death, states a release issued by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, adding the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses. It will begin on Wednesday, May 23 at the Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex, Court Room B, located at 25 Morton Shulman Ave. in Toronto. Dr. Geoffrey Bond will preside as inquest coroner and Liesha Earle and Troy Harrison will be counsel to the coroner.
