CF Eaton Centre and TD Centre win awards

TORONTO — Two of Cadillac Fairview’s (CF) landmark Canadian properties, the CF Toronto Eaton Centre and Toronto-Dominion (TD) Centre, have been recognized with The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International.

Presented at the 2017 BOMA International Conference and Expo in Nashville, Tenn., the TOBY Awards are the commercial real estate industry’s highest honours, distinguishing excellence in building management and operations, states a release.

Judging is based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators.

To qualify, the two Cadillac Fairview properties first had to win both at the local and national levels.

"We couldn’t be more proud to bring home this tremendous honour, which is testament to the collective hard work and dedication of the entire CF Toronto Eaton Centre team," said Sheila Jennings, general manager, CF Toronto Eaton Centre, in a statement.

"We are delighted to receive this prestigious award, particularly as we prepare to mark the Toronto-Dominion Centre’s 50th anniversary," added David Hoffman, general manager, Toronto-Dominion Centre. "We have held our position as Canada’s premier business address through unwavering innovation, smart investments and meaningful collaboration with our tenants and the 20,000 people who come to work at TD Centre every day."
