TORONTO—Tribute Communities executive Neil Rodgers has been announced as the next elected president of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA).
The OHBA issued a statement Sept. 12 indicating that Rodgers will be elected its president for 2016-2017 at the organization’s annual meeting being held Sept. 19 at the Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, Ont. Rodgers most recently served as the association’s first vice-president and has been a member of its executive committee since 2012.
Rodgers has been active in both the public and private sectors of the land-development industry in southern Ontario, British Columbia and the United States for almost 30 years. He is currently the executive vice-president, acquisitions at Tribute Communities, an Ontario-based integrated land developer. Rodgers is responsible for all aspects of land acquisitions, vendor/investor and broker relationships and market research.
Prior to joining Tribute, Rodgers played a role in the merger of the Urban Development Industry Ontario and the Greater Toronto Homebuilders’ Association to form the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD).
The OHBA indicated that Rodgers intends to engage in research in order to demonstrate what the future of the marketplace will look like with respect to such issues as the Greenbelt and Growth Plan, the OMB Review and Building Code changes around Net Zero housing as well as the Climate Change Action Plan.
