In the rapidly-growing Victoria, B.C. suburb of Langford, the four-storey Granderson condominium is taking shape. The development includes five units of ground-level commercial space and 59 condos.
The $7.6-million project is forecast to be complete by late October 2011. In addition to the creation of a new street, a “woonerf” is being developed. Originally a Dutch concept, it is intended to reduce or slow traffic. Granderson’s version will be a multi-use road for vehicles, bikes and pedestrians.
Leading the project is the Granderson Development Group, which includes Victoria-based Westco Construction. Vancouver-based Wensley Architecture designed the building. JDM Alliance, of Victoria, is the construction team.
