Migrating Landscapes team honoured by Royal Architectural Institute of Canada

Members of the Migrating Landscapes Team Canada have won the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Foundation’s first College of Fellows Centennial Fund for Intern/Intern Architects. The award of $5,000 will be presented at the Foundation Luncheon, June 14 during the 2012 Architecture Canada | RAIC – NLAA Festival of Architecture, June 13 to 16, in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Members of the Migrating Landscapes Team Canada have won the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Foundation’s first College of Fellows Centennial Fund for Intern/Intern Architects.

The 13 young intern/intern architects members of the Migrating Landscapes team are now part of Canada’s official entry at the 2012 Venice Biennale in Architecture, Aug, 29 to Nov. 25.

“We were impressed with the achievements of each of the 13 individuals forming Team Canada, who have already made significant contributions to the profession, which have been recognized by various awards, publications and exhibitions of their work. Some of them are also involved in teaching and lecturing,” noted the jury.

Migrating Landscapes, organized by 5468796 Architecture + Jae-Sung Chon, is a nationwide competition and series of seven regional exhibitions held to explore how Canadian architects and designers ages 45 and under have been inuenced by migration. The 13 members of Team Canada submitted as a group to the Centennial Fund for Intern/Intern Architects.

The College of Fellows Centennial Fund for Interns or Intern Architects was created with donations received from Members of the College of Fellows and Members of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada to support a deserving intern or intern architect or group of interns/intern architects wishing to promote the value and image of the profession.

The award of $5,000 will be presented at the Foundation Luncheon, June 14 during the 2012 Architecture Canada | RAIC – NLAA Festival of Architecture, June 13 to 16, in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
