Exterior work is progressing at the historic Loblaw Groceterias building at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Bathurst Street in Toronto that is being transformed into the mixed-use development West Block by Choice Properties Real Estate Investment Trust, Wittington Properties Ltd. and Concord Adex.
The project being constructed by EllisDon Corp. will house a Loblaws Great food store and retail space, offices and two residential towers that will be 37-storeys and 41-storeys with a total of 876 units and three levels of underground parking. The architect for the project is architectsAlliance and ERA Architects is the heritage architect. Historic Restoration Inc. handled the dismantling, cleaning and reconstructing the original stone and brick. Consultants are: Read Jones Christoffersen (structural) and MCW Consultants Ltd. (geotechnical). Subcontractors include: Premform Ltd.; Nortown Electrical Contractors Associates; Lisi Mechanical; and Cooltech Air Systems Ltd.
