Four teams shortlisted for Quayside Development on Toronto’s waterfront

TORONTO — Following the evaluation of 10 request for qualifications submissions, four teams have been chosen to proceed to the request for proposal stage of the Quayside Development Opportunity, Waterfront Toronto announced July 21. 
The four teams are:  

• Hines Canada Management II ULC – Hines Canada with Tridel Builders Inc. (lead developers) and Fosters + Partners (lead architects);  
• KMT Quayside Developments Inc. – Kilmer, Mattamy and Tricon (lead developers) and MVRDV, Cobe (lead architect); 

• Quayside Impact LP – Dream Unlimited Corp. and Great Gulf (lead developer) and Adjaye Associates, Alison Brooks Architects, Henning Larsen (lead architect); and 
• The Daniels Corporation and Hullmark Developments Ltd. – The Daniels Corporation and Hullmark Developments (lead developer) and Diamond Schmitt Architects Inc. (lead architect).  

The Quayside Development Opportunity is a 12-acre area located at the foot of Parliament Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East in Toronto. Waterfront Toronto launched an international RFQ on March 10, 2021 and the deadline for teams to make a submissions was May 28, 2021.  

The shortlisted proponents are being invited to respond to the RFPs and following the evaluation of the submissions Waterfront Toronto anticipates the preferred proponent will be selected by the end of 2021 and will then enter into contract negotiations.
