Construction is moving along on the Centennial College Progress Campus expansion in Scarborough, Ont.
The design-build six-storey mass timber building being constructed by EllisDon will house the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science programs and flexible classrooms that support Indigenous ways of teaching and being, as well as support areas such as Wisdom Hall, a student touchdown space, along with collaborative spaces, administrative offices and food services. The building will connect to the existing A-Block building and is aiming to achieve a minimum LEED Gold standard, WELL certification and a net zero, or possibly net positive building designation. The owner is Centennial College and architects are Dialog Architects and Smoke Architecture. Consultants are: Smith and Andersen (mechanical/electrical), RJC (structural), Walter Fedy (civil), and Vertechs Design (landscape). Â Subcontractors Include: Nordic (mass timber design/assist).
