Arrest made in truck with stolen steel wire

The police department in Halton, Ont. has arrested a man from Brampton for the theft of a transport truck and trailer loaded with $65,000 worth of steel wire.

HALTON, ONT.

The police department in Halton, Ont. has arrested a man from Brampton for the theft of a transport truck and trailer loaded with $65,000 worth of steel wire.

The incident occurred on May 19 at about 6 a.m when the parked truck was stolen from a Petro Canada gas station in Campbellville, Ont. After police pursued the truck a 37-year-old man from Brampton, Ont., named Charanjit Bains, was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

He was charged with the following offences: theft of a motor vehicle; theft over $5,000; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; flight from the police; resisting arrest; and arrest in the theft of $65,000 worth of steel wire.
