Almadev announces LSQ community in Toronto
ALMADEV — LSQ from Almadev is a 15-acre master-planned community in north Toronto that will feature 1,600 residential units.

TORONTO — Almadev has announced the launch of LSQ, a 15-acre master-planned community located on Sheppard Avenue East in the North York district of Toronto.

LSQ, which stands for Lansing Square, is located just east of Highway 404 within the Consumer Road Business Park, stated a release.

The development will feature 1,600 residential units, including 160 affordable rental units, and 400,000 square feet of commercial space, including a new 180,000-square-foot commercial building and 50,000 square feet of retail space.

Almadev’s previous developments have included Emerald City and Galleria on the Park in Toronto.

LSQ will retain two existing office buildings onsite. The new commercial tower with office, retail and self-storage will be introduced as part of phase one.

The development will also include a 1.2-acre park with public art as well as two privately owned public spaces which will connect directly to retail and commercial spaces. Additionally, there will be new public roads with dedicated bike lanes.

The flagship building, LSQ 1, was designed by Wallman Architects with a significant focus on family-sized residences. The facade features a pattern of zigzags using metal panels with black and white alternating balconies.
LSQ 1 will include 462 condominium residences, ranging from 444 square feet to 1,185 square feet. Truong Ly Design is the designer of the interiors.

“This is an area we strongly believe in, as we recently completed our master-planned community, Emerald City, just down the street last year. It’s fortuitous timing that just as we close one chapter, we begin another,” stated Rafael Lazer, CEO of Almadev, in a statement.
